Privacy, short version
Your photos stay in your Dropbox and, if you allow it, your iPhone Photos library. Luminessence does not run a photo server. We do not sell libraries. Details below.
Privacy Policy — Luminessence
Last updated: 23 September 2026
Developer: Reliveit
This policy covers the iOS app Luminessence.
What the app accesses
Dropbox
After you sign in with Dropbox, the app can list, download, upload, and delete files in folders you choose.
Tokens are stored by the Dropbox SDK on the device. We do not receive your Dropbox password.
Photo Library
If you allow it, the app reads recent photos and videos to show them, back them up, match them to Dropbox files, sync albums/favourites,
and delete a local original when you confirm delete.
“Add photos” permission is used when you download a cloud file to the Camera Roll.
Notifications
Optional On This Day and Memories alerts. You can turn them off in Settings.
On-device files
Thumbnails, a metadata JSON, memory scores, and link indexes live in the app sandbox.
A copy of metadata/memory JSON may also be saved into your Dropbox folder so another device can reuse it.
What we do not do
No Luminessence user account
No analytics product required to use the app
We do not sell photo libraries or contact lists
We do not use your library to train a public model
Scene and face features run on the device (Vision / Core ML). Results stay in your local files and, if enabled, in your Dropbox JSON.
• We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising
Third parties
Apple handles App Store, push delivery, and Photo Library under Apple’s policy.
Children The app is not directed at children under 13.
Dropbox handles login and file storage under Dropbox’s own policy.
Dropbox sign-in
To connect your Dropbox account, Luminessence opens Dropbox’s official sign-in flow (system browser or Dropbox app).
During that flow, Dropbox may use cookies and similar technologies on dropbox.com as described in Dropbox’s Privacy Policy.
Those cookies are set and controlled by Dropbox in that browser context.
Luminessence does not read those cookies, does not use them for advertising or cross-app tracking, and does not sell your data.
After you authorize access, we store OAuth credentials on your device so the app can access the Dropbox folders you choose.
File requests use those credentials, not tracking cookies.
For Dropbox’s practices, see: https://www.dropbox.com/privacy
Delete your data
Disconnect Dropbox in Settings.
Delete the app to remove local cache and JSON.
Files in Dropbox remain until you delete them in Dropbox or in the app.
Revoke access: Dropbox.com → Security → connected apps.
